The Benefits of Dark Green VeggiesDark green vegetables, such as spinach, kale, broccoli, lettuce, cabbage, and turnip greens are rich in calcium. Calcium is an essential nutrient to maintain strong teeth. If you are a vegetarian or a vegan, leafy green veggies are a great source of calcium that you need to stay healthy. Other calcium rich foods include milk, yogurt, cheese, fortified soy, tofu and almonds.
In addition to leafy greens being high in calcium, they are also high in potassium, which is essential for keeping the density of teeth and protecting them from acid erosion. Kale, spinach and broccoli are all rich in potassium as well as calcium.
